What does this goal mean to you?

Clean streets, litter free and careful collection of trash.

Plantings of flowers and trees.

Cooperation among neighbors.

Graffiti free.

Open space, saving parks.

Neighbors maintaining their private property.

Picking up after dogs and keeping dogs on short leashes.

No guns.

Active commercial core.

Enforce zoning laws and ordinances and updating them.

Performance measures

Litter reduced by 50 percent in one year.

Noise pollution from homes, cars, people on street to end by 11 p.m.

Dog patrol to give out fines for no leash or not picking up after dog.

All reported graffiti removed within 72 hours.

Place trash cans at bus stops and public places by the end of 2008.

Place recycle bins at bus stops and public places by the end of 2011.

Place cigarette receptacles outside of restaurants, bars, and bus stops by end of 2008.

Plant 1,000 trees per year.

Trash trucks to have visible numbers on them for reporting purposes by Sept. 1, 2008.

All reported abandoned cars removed within 72 hours.

Customer-service standards

The 311 system to include the Council person, by sending a print out of calls from their district so that s/he can help monitor progress. S/he will share this with civic groups.

Response to litter or trash call on same day.

Respectful response when called.
