For the "My Philadelphia" contest, the judging was blind and involved media and art professionals. Below are the judges for each category.

Writing Category
 
Monica Yant Kiney, an Inquirer columnist
Tanya Barrientos, an author, teacher and former Inquirer columnist
Dale Mezzacappa, a teacher, writer and former Inquirer education reporter
Tom Ferrick Jr., an Inquirer columnist
 
Finalists and category winners were chosen by these panels. All finalists were then sent to a third panel of judges who picked the Grand Prize and 2nd Prize winners.
